Golden Gate

This article is from the old blog in 2020:

One of the places Trevor and Charlotte visited during their enforced stay in South Africa during Covid. Golden Gate Highlands National Park is located in Free State, near the Lesotho border. The name is derived from the golden, ochre and orange hued, deeply eroded cliffs and outcrops. The R712 to Clarens, a beautiful, artist village, runs through it. Too see the animals you either have to drive the 2 loops near the Glen Reenen rest camp or hike the Rhebok trail. Hiking takes you to the bushman paintings and walking with the animals. This time we only did driving.
