The bungalow we slept in was small but we were so tired that we slept well. We got up and had a good breakfast of baguette, jam, omlette and coffee.
After breakfast we took a walk around the camp to decide on the best place to pitch the tent. We chose a place not far from the one we had the previous time.
Once the tent was up, we took the opportunity to do some much needed washing of clothes, it is amazing everytime how much dust comes out of them.
We then made use of the lounge area behind the bar to catch up on some admin that we were a bit behind on (scheduling income and property tax payments due before end November, amongst others) as well as getting the laptop and other electronic devices properly charged.
Later in the afternoon we took a boat ride up the Langue due Barbarie and saw some bird life along the beach and ladies waist deep and more with buckets and sifting the mud for shrimps. There were some nice views of pelicans but they would fly off if we got within 100 metres of them.

The boat stopped at the island across from Zebrabar and we walked to the ocean which was very rough and the water quite brown from the churning. There were about 5 crabs which looked like they were playing in the surf. They would ‘run’ towards the incoming water and then be swept up the beach and washed back again, sticking their legs in to the sand to stop themselves being pulled to far into the water.

At another area there was a mass migration of crabs, quite an interesting sight. One crab became isolated from his friends and Trevor followed it and it ran ahead of him by about 10 metres and would move further every step that Trevor took. It seemed to use the sun, which was behind Trevor, to move left or right and Trevor was able to make it move left or right by just stepping a few feet to the left or right, amazing for 10 metres away.

For dinner Charlotte cooked some of the last fresh vegetables that we still had (potatoes and carrots) and added some tinned chicken in white sauce, and also added tinned peas and sweetcorn. It was delicious.
